Installing claude code for free

go to API key and click create key then copy it and save it somewhere safe

Install Node.js if it is not already installed. Go to Google and search for Node.js download. Click on the first link and download it, and install it • After installation, open Command Prompt or PowerShell and run: • node --version • npm --version • If both commands return version numbers, continue to the next step.

• Open the FreeModel documentation at https://freemodel.dev/dashboard/docs#claude-code. • Select your operating system in the docs and scroll to Step 4. • Copy the installation command shown there and run it in your terminal. • Then launch Claude Code by running the launch command shown in the docs. Usually, type " Claude " in the window terminal, you will see the Claude logo and the model, but before it will ask you to log in and even to change the theme, just cancel the terminal and go into your pc where Claude is installed , after verifying that Claude is installed by typing " Claude " in the terminal

repace YOUR API KEY with the key you saved before

•Close the old terminal window and open a fresh terminal. •Run the Claude launch command again. •When asked Do you want to use this API key?, Choose yes. In the video walkthrough, the presenter selects option 1. •Press Enter to continue and choose Yes, I trust this folder. •Test with a prompt such as: Hi, how are you? •You can also ask: Which model are you?
